Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

As part of the commonwealth's effort to build a statewide strategy to advance Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) and as directed in Executive Order Number Ten, the Library supports inclusion for all Virginians, the promotion of diverse free speech and inclusive civil discourse, and a role in promoting the honest and complete teaching of history.

The Library of Virginia strives to be an open, inclusive, and empowering force in the life of every Virginian and is working to become an organization that honors inclusion and reflects diversity in its staffing, collections, services, and programming.
