In this single issue of Woman’s Work Today, the publishers urged women to explore new careers, including a few—such as librarians—that were generally relegated to females. One article stated that, to increase the number of dentists the Medical College of Virginia should “recruit strong women not weak men” rather than contemplate lowering admission standards.
