Journeyman in the Norfolk Gazette and Publick Ledger office of William Davis (127) in 1809.
Anderson's presence in the Virginia printing trade is established by the notice of his death published in Norfolk's Publick Ledger. Such placement apparently indicates his employment there, as no other notices are known. It is possible that he was the same John Anderson who had sold books in Baltimore over the preceding three years (1806-08) as a partner to Gravener M. Jeffries; however, no definitive link has yet been found.
