Apprentice in the Alexandria printing office of John (438) and James D. Westcott (437).
Davies is only a fleeting presence in the historical record; he appears but once, in a notice in the Westcotts' newspaper – The Times and District of Columbia Daily Advertiser – in March 1802 reporting his flight from their office. That single glimpse and a not uncommon name make a fuller identification of Davies impossible without more direct evidence.
