Bookbinder and blank-book maker in Alexandria in 1787.
Joshua Frederick Delacour has left only a slight trace on the historic record. He advertised his binding business in Alexandria's only newspaper in 1787, but only during that year. His notices suggest that his bindery was becoming a sideline then, as they stress a range of non-binding services, especially installing the decorative wallpaper that he also sold. Three years later, in his only appearance in the federal census, Delacour was living with his small family in Frederick County, Maryland, having obviously abandoned his Alexandria shop. No other information about Delacour has yet been found.
