Manager of the first subscription circulating library in Richmond in 1785.
"Mr. Graves" was evidently the first librarian in Richmond, taking control of the subscription circulating library of Thomas Nicolson (315) when he brought that long-standing venture to Richmond in 1785. As Nicolson's collection became part of the successive Library Company of Richmond in 1806, Graves evidently maintained his charge well. However, no further information about him has yet been uncovered, preventing any further identification.
