Printer in the Alexandria office (1806) of Samuel Snowden (393).
The only record of Hustin as a part of the Virginia print trade is a listing in the Alexandria city census of 1806. Circumstances suggest, however, that the spelling of his surname seen in that listing may be wrong. He may be one William Houston; if so, he was a originally from Bristol, England, then age thirty-one, who went on to work as a journeyman printer across the Potomac in the District of Columbia; Houston died in Woodstock on Feb. 29, 1820 in the employ of Benjamin L. Bogan (037), himself formerly a printer in the federal district. But lacking conclusive evidence, the association of Hustin with Houston is purely speculative.
