Printer who worked in the Williamsburg printing office (1764-66) of Joseph Royle (368).
Lewis is a fleeting presence in the historical record; he appears only in the Williamsburg printing office journal of Joseph Royle as a journeyman printer there during Royle's fatal decline. No imprints produced by him have been found in the bibliographic record, nor has a record of him been found in surviving court records, particularly those for Williamsburg proper. So this limited evidence and a fairly common name makes a fuller identification impossible without more data.
