Printer in the New Market printing office of Solomon Henkel (218) in 1815.
Stone is known to have been a part of the Virginia print trade as a result of being mentioned in the correspondence of his master, Solomon Henkel, in 1815. However, his given name was not noted there, so making any tracking of him essentially impossible. Moreover, as he was employed at a German-language press, it may be that his surname was actually Stein, which had been Anglicized as the journeyman travelled between press offices.
