Apprentice printer in the Williamsburg office of Joseph Royle (368) in 1764-65.
Thompson is a fleeting presence in the historical record; he appears only in the order books of the York County Court in 1764, when he was bound out on a year-long indenture as an apprentice to printer Joseph Royle of Williamsburg. That one glimpse and a fairly common name make a fuller identification of Thompson impossible without more direct evidence.
