Under this new regime, the paper was continued in both its daily and twice-weekly editions, with a new weekly edition added to the mix in March 1855; the firm also offered a new version of The Campaign Enquirer in 1856 (June-November) in support of the presidential candidacy of Democrat James Buchanan.
