- id: 383
- end_date: October 10, 1853
- frequency: Daily (ex. Sun)
- lineage_id: 87
- proprietors: Irving, Scott, & Co.
- start_date: February 1852
- variant_number: Richmond 19-26
- notes: The triumvirate of Carter H. Irving (1817-95), Martin P. Scott (1822-1904), and John Scott (1820-1907) acquired this daily from Carrington's estate in February 1852. Last number known is issue for June 20, 1853, leading to suggestions by several authorities that paper ceased publication about that time; notices in other papers, however, report sale of paper in October 1853 and its subsequent retitling; still, the country edition apparently ceased publication with that sale.
