Bartgis's Virginia Gazette and the Winchester Advertiser
- id: 481
- end_date: ca. November 26, 1791
- frequency: Weekly
- lineage_id: 112
- proprietors: M. & C.B. Bartgis
- start_date: January 6, 1790
- variant_number: Winchester 01-06
- notes: Partnership of Bartgis & Willis ceased with end of 1789; Willis then advertised start of new weekly called Willis's Virginia Gazette (Winchester 04), causing Bartgis to add his surname to his title to differentiate the two Gazettes. His new partner was apparently a relative, though unrecorded forename makes an identification uncertain; possibly was his mother Catherine, so providing her support during his father's terminal illness; last known issue is that for November 26, 1791, published shortly after father's death, which also seems to have compelled Bartgis to contract his business ventures temporarily.
