- notes: Foster discontinued the twice-weekly cycle of his paper about April 6, 1816, citing a lack of subscriber support for that "second paper." Throughout 1818, he frequently appealed to his patrons to pay their arrearages, citing his dire financial circumstances; then when he lost his license to publish "the laws of the Union" at the start of second session of the 15th Congress in November, he began advertising the sale of his partisan weekly; eventually he sold it to George McGlassin at the end of March 1819, so end date reported here.
