• notes: Address of the resident governor opening the Assembly session, setting out the legislative priorities of the imperial administration, delivered on February 20, 1745/6. Gooch called this special session to discuss the outbreak of the Jacobite Rebellion and to enlist provisions for transport ships which, en route from Gibraltar to Louisburg, had been forced by winds onto the Virginia coastline.
