- title: An impartial trial of the spirit operating in this part of the world; by comparing the nature, effects, and evidences of the present supposed conversion, with the word of God. A sermon, preached at New London-Derry, October 14th, 1741. On I John iv, I. By John Caldwell, A.M. Published at the desire of the old congregation in the said town.
- sequence_number: 9
- year: 1747
- place_issued: Williamsburg
- issuing_press: William Parks
- author: Caldwell, John.
- notes: Originally published in Boston in 1742. Evans reported a 1746 Williamsburg edition of this work (Evans 5750), but such could not be found during filming of the Early American Imprints series; the existence of this 1747 Williamsburg edition suggests that Evans drew on a late 1746 subscription advertisement for his bibliographic entry, but that the actual imprint was issued in early 1747, as does this title's absence from the Evans bibliography.
