• notes: Previous three editions of Every Man His Own Doctor were issued in Williamsburg by William Parks in 1734 (1734.001 & 1734.002) and 1736 (1736.004). With this issue, Hunter published a new edition of the Williamsburg printing office's most popular pre-Revolutionary work.
  Copy at the American Antiquarian Society is bound with the 1742 edition of Eliza Smith's The Compleat Housewife (1742.001); copy at the Library of Virginia is bound with 1752 edition of that same work (1752.001); the binding-states suggest Hunter disposed of the unsold sheets of the lengthier Compleat Housewife that remained in Parks' estate (d. May 1750) by adding a new edition of Tennent to the mix; his success in marketing the pairing in 1751 evidently instigated publication of new edition of Smith's work in 1752 to continue the bound offering.
