- notes: Called to meet on October 1st, a quorum was not reached until November 7th, following the British surrender at Yorktown on October 19th with the resulting cessation of hostilities.
John Dunlap and James Hayes began work in Richmond in December 1781 as Virginia's public printers; they held the position until May 1786 with Hayes the sole resident proprietor.
