- notes: Compilation of correspondence received by Robert R. Livingston, secretary of foreign affairs, from British commanders General Guy Carleton and Admiral Robert Digby in New York City confirming a peace treaty and sending George III's proclamation of a cessation of hostilities.
John Dunlap and James Hayes began work in Richmond in December 1781 as Virginia's public printers; they held the position until May 1786 with Hayes the sole resident proprietor; here Hayes omitted Dunlap's name from the imprint's colophon.
