- imprint_number: 1785.010
- title: A collection of all such public acts of the General Assembly, and ordinances of the conventions of Virginia, passed since the year 1768, as are now in force; with a table of the principal matters. Published under inspection of the judges of the High Court of Chancery, by a resolution of General Assembly, the 16th day of June 1783.
- sequence_number: 10
- year: 1785
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Nicolson & Prentis
- author: Virginia. General Assembly.
- notes: First compilation of the laws in force since independence declared (see 1769.006). Originally contracted to Dixon & Holt, they subcontracted its printing to Nicolson & Prentis and binding to Brend & Currie. However, a January 1785 fire in the Nicolson & Prentis office destroyed the nearly completed project; Nicolson & Prentis were compelled to reprint the entire work independently, well below cost, before it was bound by Brend & Currie, hence the colophon credit. Nicolson & Prentis ended their partnership once the revisal was finished in May 1785.
