- notes: Swem reported existence of this title, a second edition of a remonstrance written by James Madison (1785.014), published by George Mason (1725-92), author of Virginia's Declaration of Rights, in support of Madison's campaign to enact Thomas Jefferson's Statute for Religious Freedom in the Assembly of 1785/86, to which this petition was addressed; he attributed this title to press of Dunlap & Hayes, as he did the first edition.
