- sequence_number: 7
- year: 1786
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Thomas Nicolson
- author: Percival, Thomas (1740-1804).
- notes: Sheet lacks printer credit; attributed to Nicolson from book advertisement on last page.
Incident described herein occurred on August 25, 1783, and this account was published in British medical journals over the following year; these circumstances have led authorities to assign a "not before 1783" publishing date. But Nicolson did not conduct a solitary press until after the dissolution of his partnership with William Prentis in May 1785; so this imprint was produced sometime between that parting and Nicolson's death in November 1808.
During 1786, Nicolson was attempting to create a greater trade presence in Richmond in the wake of the dissolution of the Dunlap & Hayes press office, hence the date assigned here.
