Act Appointing Deputies to a Constitutional Convention.
- imprint_number: 1786.025
- title: An act for appointing deputies from this commonwealth to a convention proposed to be held in the city of Philadelphia in May next, for the purpose of revising the fœderal Constitution.
- sequence_number: 25
- year: 1786
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Dixon & Holt
- author: Virginia. General Assembly.
- notes: Enacted on November 23, 1786; passed in the House on November 9th.
Sheet lacks printer credit; erroneously attributed to press of Dunlap & Hayes by both Evans and Swem; the firm of Dixon & Holt had been appointed as the public printer in June 1786, succeeding that of Dunlap & Hayes, who were dismissed on May 5, 1786, as a result of their perceived negligence (tardy production of Assembly records).
Act is reprinted as Chap. VIII of the Acts of October 1786 in Hening's Statutes (XII: 256).
