Act Amending Act on Settlement and Pre-emption Rights.
- imprint_number: 1787.043
- title: [An act for reviving, continuing and amending an act to revive and amend in part an act for giving further time to enter certificates for settlement rights, and for locating warrants upon pre-emption rights, and for other purposes]
- sequence_number: 43
- year: 1787
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Uncertain
- author: Virginia. General Assembly.
- notes: No copy known extant; act was ordered printed separately by the House of Delegates during the October 1786 session; Swem records imprint from journal entry, but did not see a copy; title from reprint as Chap III of the Acts of October 1786 in Hening's Statutes (XII: 237-240).
Journal does not indicate printer; during that Assembly, the task of printing the session's records was split among the three Richmond presses headed by John Dixon, Augustine Davis, and Thomas Nicolson; Dixon was officially the public printer – having become the sole holder of that appointive office on the death of his partner & nephew, John Hunter Holt, on June 8, 1787 – but his office was plagued by production delays, hence the division of session work.
