  Text includes "correct copy of the Constitution of the United States," as Congress ordered, as well as copy of the amendments proposed in Congress during this session that later became the Bill of Rights; the Library of Virginia suggests that this title contains the first printing of the Bill of Rights "in the South" (i.e. south of Philadelphia).
  In June 1789, the Council of State designated Davis as printer of federal documents for the use of the various entities of state government; the Assembly reaffirmed the Council's power to make such assignments in December 1789 and ordered 2000 copies of the acts be printed and distributed as were the Assembly's laws then; Davis remained in that role through 1791.
