Prospectus for the New Virginia Justice.
- imprint_number: 1795.004
- title: Proposals for printing by subscription The New Virginia Justice comprising the office and authority of a justice of the peace in the commonwealth of Virginia ... by William Waller Hening, attorney at law.
- sequence_number: 4
- year: 1795
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Thomas Nicolson
- author: Hening, William Waller (1768-1828).
- notes: Here Hening offers a prospectus for the first edition of his New Virginia Justice (1795.016).
Sheet lacks printer credit; title is regularly attributed to the press of Thomas Nicolson in Richmond as Hening published the finished work through Nicolson in late 1795; imprint is apparently a larger second edition of his initial prospectus (1794.009) which he sent to the state's leading legal figures in May 1794; text detail suggests this broadside issued during his subsequent effort to find subscription funding after his negotiations with Mathew Carey of Philadelphia (Hening's preferred publisher) ended unsuccessful in the winter of 1794-95; so the attribution to Nicolson's press is repeated here.
Only copy known extant is held by the Virginia Historical Society.
