Journal of the House of Delegates (November 1796).
- imprint_number: 1796.056
- title: [Journal of the house of delegates of the commonwealth of Virginia, begun and held at the capitol, in the city of Richmond, on Tuesday, the eighth day of November, one thousand seven hundred and ninety-six].
- sequence_number: 56
- year: 1796
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Augustine Davis
- author: Virginia. General Assembly.
- notes: Session met from November 8 to December 27, 1796.
No copy known extant; Davis was required to produce this journal and the records of the Council of State do not show that he did not do so, as that record showed with John Dixon and James Davis before him; it is most likely that Davis printed fewer journals than usual after this session, as evinced by the growing number of complaints in 1797 and 1798 about insufficient copies of government documents that led to his dismissal in November 1799.
