- notes: Petition asks that the laws of each Assembly session be published in German, for the benefit of those ethnic Germans who did not speak English; seeks to extend of precedent set in 1794 when the revenue and property laws in the Revisal of 1792 (1794.037) were ordered printed in German by bilingual printer Charles Cist of Philadelphia; dated at end in manuscript "Dec. 11, 1797" by a clerk of the House of Delegates, indicating date of submission.
Only known copy is held in the state archives at the Library of Virginia.
Sheet lacks printer credit; probably a Staunton or Winchester imprint, but assigning a specific printer or place is speculative.
