Given the previous use of Nicolson's press by George Wythe in publishing his law reports, Washington engaged this printer as well, as did Daniel Call subsequently.
In November 1911, the Virginia Supreme Court ordered a chronological numbering of the 75 such reporter-named reports that had been published in the state until then, so giving these titles a second designation as volumes 1 & 2 of the Virginia Reports series.
The Early American Imprints Series filmed this volume twice, mistakenly duplicating it under the number assigned by Evans to volume 1 (34958).
