Listing was ordered printed by the Grand Lodge during its December 1799 grand communication (see 1799.044); the proceedings of that meeting were "Printed by John Dixon, printer to the Grand Lodge of Virginia." Dixon served in this role from April 1791 until his death in May 1807, so this undoubtedly issued from his press; moreover, the relatively small size of this work indicates that Dixon could have easily produced it before year end, so the date assigned here.
Walgren erroneously ascribes this title to the press of Meriwether Jones & John Dixon Jr.; yet that partnership was dissolved in April 1799, some eight months before this list was printed.
