- title: A discourse on the death of General Washington, late president of the United States; delivered on the 22d of February, 1800, in the church in Williamsburg. By James Madison, D.D., Bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church in Virginia, and president of William and Mary College. The second edition--corrected.
- sequence_number: 24
- year: 1800
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: William Prichard
- author: Madison, James (1749-1812), bishop.
- notes: Imprint states: "Printed in New-York by T. and J. Swords, for W. Prichard, Richmond. 1800."
Prichard had opened a short-lived branch store in New York in 1795, where he developed a relationship with the Sword brothers, among others there; here Prichard employed the pair to produce a "corrected" edition of Madison's discourse of about twice the length of the first edition printed earlier in the year by Thomas Nicolson (1800.023), apparently in response to Madison's disapproval with that initial effort.
Although printed in New York, title is listed here as it was intended for Virginia distribution.
