- year: 1800
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: William Prichard
- author: Lempriere, William (d. 1834).
- notes: American Antiquarian Society reports that this title is a reissue of the sheets used in the 1794 edition of this work printed at Philadelphia by Thomas Dobson (Evans 27216), with the addition of a new title page identifying Richmond and Prichard as its origination.
Prichard came to Richmond in 1792 by way of Baltimore and Philadelphia, so had substantial trade relationships in both cities, as well as New York, where he had briefly opened a branch store in 1795; the above description suggests that Prichard had taken a number of Dobson's long-unsold and unbound sheets off his colleague's hands as part of an exchange of monies and goods between them, as was common at this time in the American book trade; so this title is listed here as it was intended for Virginia distribution, even though printed elsewhere.
