Treatise on the Culture of Lucerne.
- imprint_number: 1800.040
- title: A treatise on the culture of Lucerne.
- sequence_number: 40
- year: 1800
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Thomas Nicolson
- author: Ambler, Jaquelin (1742-98).
- notes: Lucerne is an alternate name for Alfalfa (Medicago sativa), now archaic.
Ambler's main text carries a caption title of "Notes on the culture of lucerne in and about Richmond' [p. 3-8]; and is followed by "Observations on Mr. Ambler’s notes on the culture of lucerne" [p. 7-9] signed: "R. Parker."
Imprint lacks publication date; only known copy is held by the Library of Congress; that copy was part of a bound collection of 15 agricultural pamphlets owned by Thomas Jefferson, now disbound; from the marginalia in that collection and information in Jefferson's papers there, the Library assigned a date of 1800 to this title, so the report here as well.
Title was not filmed by Early American Imprints Series because of the only copy's fragility.
