- year: 1801
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Augustine Davis
- author: Beaumarchais, Amélie-Eugénie Caron de (1778-1832).
- notes: The author is the daughter of Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais (1732-99), the French playwright who led the covert operation begun in early 1776 to supply the Continental army with French munitions through a pretended Spanish merchant house, Roderigue Hortalez & Co. That front company dealt with Silas Deane of Connecticut, who was charged by Virginian Arthur Lee with self-interested dealings with the French, and so was not paid for materials he acquired from Beaumarchais, in turn depriving the Frenchman of his compensation – hence the appeal here to the Congress to settle the account in favor of Beaumarchais's estate.
Only recorded copy, filmed by the Early American Imprints Series, is at Library of Congress.
