  Proposed work never issued, probably as a result of a competing collection of Virginia laws proposed by Richmond printers Samuel Pleasants and Henry Pace that fall, a project which had a broader appeal and the patronage of the Assembly itself (see 1801.043).
  Sheet lacks colophon; Caldwell was one of Winchester's leading Republican figures, as well as father of printers James and Joseph F. Caldwell; so it is most likely that this subscription form issued from the Republican press of George Trisler, where those sons began their training.
