- sequence_number: 45

- place_issued: Alexandria
- issuing_press: John Westcott, for Robert & John Gray
- author: Godwin, William (1756-1836).
- notes: Third issue of sheets printed by John & James D. Westcott in 1801; they issued one variant under their imprint (1801.024) and another for John V. Thomas (1801.023) at that time; this variant's imprint lacks a printer identification, but the typography is identical to that of the 1801 editions; in mid-1802, James D. Westcott returned to his native New Jersey, leaving this Alexandria press in the hands of his father, John Sr., so the attribution here.
The brothers Robert & John Gray conducted a successful bookstore in Alexandria from 1800 to 1808, when John retired from the business; Robert continued alone until 1814.
