• notes: Circular informs clerks that the unanimity of the county-court justices must be shown in the official record sent to Richmond before an execution order would issue from the executive.
  While such letters were usually printed by the public printer, this period marks the beginning of the substitution of Pleasants for Meriwether Jones in that office; from summer 1803 until March 1804, Jones was titular printer but often subcontracted work to Pleasants, as here.
