Letters of a British Spy, 2d edition.
- imprint_number: 1803.038
- title: The letters of the British spy. Originally published in the Virginia Argus, in August and September, 1803. The second edition.
- sequence_number: 38
- year: 1803
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Samuel Pleasants
- author: Wirt, William (1772-1834).
- notes: Title page lacks authorial credit; Wirt later confirmed these letters were written by him; in 1803, he was a lawyer in Richmond and Norfolk; Wirt later served as U.S. Attorney General (1817-29); text is a series of sketches, often satiric, of contemporary Virginia figures.
First edition of this title was published earlier in the year (1803.31) using "the newspaper type from which it was originally printed" in the Virginia Argus. This imprint was completely reset in a single column format, rather than in the two-column style of the first edition.
