• notes: Only known copies are held in the state archives at the Library of Virginia; petitioners ask for a relocation of the district court from Petersburg to the Dinwiddie County Court House; copy filmed by the Early American Imprint Series has blank in the opening sentience completed in manuscript in name of Prince George County; the House journal shows that copies of this petition were received by the Assembly from Dinwiddie, Amelia, Prince George, Sussex, and Nottoway counties on December 11, 1803; only legislation resulting from this petition, and an opposing one (1803.070), was to move the meeting-place of court sessions in Petersburg from a privately-owned tavern to the publicly-owned town hall (Chap. CIV, Acts of December 1803 Assembly).
