• notes: Imprint states: "Monroe County, Virgina―1804." There was no press operating then in that county, as the unnamed author notes in the text:
  "I live in the back woods, far from press of types, and talk of men; Yet from what I read and hear, that comes in way but now & then, by visit of judicious men, or an undisguised print, That can each dare to give, of men and things, right informing hint; … [p. 10]."
  As the content support's Jefferson reelection, this poetical work undoubtedly issued from a Republican press, although those then nearest to Monroe were at some distance in Staunton and Lynchburg; so while clearly a Virginia title, its place of publication cannot be discerned.
