  This edition of the Bates almanac for 1809 differs from the five variants issued by Richmond job-printer Seaton Grantland in alliance with Alexandria bookseller Robert Gray (1808.065 & 1808.066), Petersburg publisher John Dickson (1808.041), and the Petersburg booksellers Somervell & Conrad (1808.081), as well as one he produced for himself (1808.040); while the text and tables here are identical in content to Grantland's editions, Pleasants set his version separately, and so this almanac varies in pagination, format, and length.
