- place_issued: Norfolk
- issuing_press: James O'Connor
- author: Tatham, William (1752-1819).
- notes: Tatham had served as the official state geographer from 1790 onward; this pair of canals was intended to aid inland navigation in conjunction with the nearby Great Dismal Swamp canal, so protecting Norfolk's trade from foreign (i.e. British) predations; text is dated August 1808.
Shaw & Shoemaker mistakenly recorded this title twice (nos. 16289 & 18722) and so the Early American Imprints Series filmed this item twice under those entry numbers.
