• notes: The first law-forms manual published in Virginia, apparently prompted by the restructuring of the state's judiciary by the Assembly in its December 1807 and December 1808 sessions; Robinson published a second edition in 1826 in conjunction with his son, Conway Robinson (1805-1884), the well-known reporter of cases heard by the Virginia Court of Appeals.
  Robinson entered this work for copyright on October 3, 1809; however, his manual was clearly published before that date, as Richmond printer Seaton Grantland had removed his press to Milledgeville, Georgia, by that date; there he became official printer to that state with the opening of Georgia's General Assembly on November 6, 1809; that context makes this particular title Grantland's latest-known Virginia imprint.
