Circular Letter to Commandants of Regiments.
- imprint_number: 1809.020
- title: [Circular to commandants of regiments, with extract from Governor Cabell’s letter].
- sequence_number: 20
- year: 1809
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: Samuel Pleasants
- author: Tyler, John Sr. (1747-1813), governor.
- notes: No copy known extant; Swem recorded title from payment to Pleasants authorized on April 8, 1809 by the Council of State for printing 50 copies; William H. Cabell retired as governor at the start of the December 1808 Assembly, having served three one-year terms consecutively, the maximum allowed under the state constitution then; so the content here was evidently from his final report to the legislature on the Virginia militia.
