• notes: John George Jackson of Clarksburg in Harrison County represented the Virginia counties west of the Alleghany ridge in Congress from 1803 to 1801, then again from 1813 to 1817; this endorsement by Ohio County Republicans preceded his reelection to the Eleventh Congress.
  This title, while signed by residents of Ohio County, was printed in nearby Pittsburgh, not in Wheeling, as ascribed by both Swem and Hummel; Pentland did not print anywhere outside of Pittsburgh after 1803, and at this time was a county official in Alleghany County as well.
