The New-Hampshire-born Lyford sold his Staunton press in May 1810 to printer Isaac Collett of Winchester and moved to Richmond; he issued this prospectus while he was employed as a journeyman printer there; this periodical never started publication and in early 1811 Lyford moved on to Norfolk to become proprietor of the Steamboat Hotel Reading Room there.
