- imprint_number: 1811.024
- title: A discourse on dueling; preached on Sunday, March 4, 1810, at the Capitol in the city of Washington, and on Sunday, January 6, 1811, at the Capitol in the city of Richmond. By Samuel Low. Minister of the Protestant Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
- sequence_number: 24
- year: 1811
- place_issued: Richmond
- issuing_press: John O. Lynch
- author: Low, Samuel.
- notes: Described by Bishop Meade as "a man of gigantic stature, stentorian lungs, and forbidding countenance," Low was a popular preacher; yet at this time, he was embroiled in a heated controversy over his marital status, living with one woman in Virginia while still married to another in New York; Lynch appears here to be part of an unsuccessful attempt to restore Low's reputation; the minister resigned his Fredericksburg pulpit later in the year.
