Title page lacks authorial credit; Tucker was identified in a biography written by his grandson, Robert Lewis Harrison (The Library of Southern Literature); he reported Tucker had recently moved to Pittsylvania and was interested in developing commerce in the area via canals.
Lynch variously employed the imprimaturs John Lynch, John O'Lynch, and John O. Lynch.
