This title was part of the last multi-variant series of annual almanacs published by Cottom & Stewart. Beginning in 1805, they issued several almanacs that were typographically identical to each other excepting for word substitutions on the title pages, substitutions that reflected the differing places where they were sold and the sellers who sold them; that tactic yielded up to five variant editions each year, This last set consisted of just two variants: a Virginia Almanack (1811.059) and a Washington Almanack (this item), wherein the sole differences in typography are found in the interchange of "Virginia" and "Washington" above the ornate engraved word "Almanack" on the title page. The reduction in number of titles from the three they issued in late 1810 apparently reflects the closing of their Fredericksburg store then, so the loss of a Fredericksburg Almanack for 1812.
