- notes: A continuation of the New Revised Code of 1803 (1803.015), which had simply added to the revisal of Virginia law undertaken after the 1792 Assembly (1794.037), and its addendum, a Continuation of the New Revised Code of 1803 (1808.037); Pleasants petitioned the Assembly on December 9, 1811 to publish this new addition, covering the public acts of Assembly from the 1808 to 1811 sessions; the enabling legislation mentioned in the title (Chap XXI of Acts of December 1811 Assembly) helped facilitate this work by requiring a separation of the public acts of Assembly from the private ones (with separate indices) in each set of annual session laws hereafter. This work was plainly still in demand in December 1814, as Deborah Lownes Pleasants then entered this work for copyright in her own name following the death of her husband Samuel that October; he was granted the right to publish a new edition in 1812.
